Most of my time is now devoted to the investigation of formal combats (duels, tournaments, and jousts) in the later Middle Ages. Also included are links to reference sites useful to other researchers. I have created a World History of Democracy Site at which I have pre-published some material written by me and my collaborator, Phil Paine.
I am also interested in the history of democracy as a world phenomenon. Although it is suffering from link-rot, my section still can lead you to useful resources. I have served as editor of the section for Late Antiquity in the Mediterraneanof the pioneering web resource, Online Reference Book for Medieval Studies, ORB. My academic training focused on the Middle Ages, especially on historians in late ancient and early medieval times.
